Dan McNamara serves as the Managing Director for the Planning and Investment Products Group, responsible for the development and delivery of investment, credit & banking, financial planning and retirement products across GWIM and Bank of America. In addition, he is President of Banc of America Investment Advisors (BAIA), a position he has held since 2006.
Dan served as the Managing Director for the Managed Account Group (CSG) and the Investment Strategies Group at Bank of America from 2001 through 2005. He was named to his current role in 2006, at which time he was asked to broaden his responsibilities to include oversight of the Alternative Investments and Retirement Plans teams. Prior to joining Bank of America, Dan worked for First Union Securities for seven years.
There he held several roles including Director of Consulting Services and Head of Advisory Services within the Consulting Group.
Prior to joining First Union in 1994, Dan spent six years at Kidder, Peabody & Company, where he was eventually promoted to Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Kidder, Peabody Asset Management. He earned a BS degree in economics from Rutgers University in 1988. Dan is a member of the Board of Governors for the Money Management Institute (MMI).
